Is Interpersonal skills important in every profession?

People have goals they want to achieve in life. They want to have a good life and because of this, they will prefer a profession that will provide what they desire. Although most professions require profound knowledge and technical skills, we must also bare in mind that even interpersonal skills may affect our success in life.

Knowledge is what we learned from school. Professors are the ones who provide us everything we should keep in mind because eventually it will help us achieve our goals. But as this is being introduced, interpersonal skills may be compromised. Like in Anatomy and Physiology test, all you have to do is to memorize the all the structure of different organ systems as well as how it functions in the body. Therefore, skills with regard to communicating may not be developed.

Furthermore, we can say that we are in the modern world. Advanced technology has been widely used and this has a great contribution to any profession. However, as this is increasing, people tend to do what others usually do. In an instance, using a computer as part of their work may affect the basic interpersonal skills of people. They may work all day in front of a computer without even communicating with other people. Besides, they are all paid very well. That is why Information Technology has become one of the most in demand courses as well as jobs nowadays.

As a conclusion, it is better for most companies to provide more team building or recreational activities, so that their employees would have more time communicating and relating with their co-workers. It is their time to release the pressure from work and just enjoy their life. Being in a workplace does not only mean about the work itself but also enjoying what you do with the people around you. In this way work can be much fun and fulfilling that can make you a better person.
